New year … SAME ME.


If you have been following along over the years, then you know that each yearend I post a three-part goal setting series where I review my process for the year and set new goals for the coming year.  If you are interested, you can check our my full January 2022 Goal post here.

But You DON’T need a “new you.  After 10+ years of goal setting,  I am sharing why I am not setting goals this New Year.

My fundamental goals for 2022 were to focus on feelings of Connection, Strength/Strong, and Core.  My word for the year was Be.

Did I achieve my 2022 goal, absolutely. but not with the list of goals I set out. Instead, I did just that….Be. I achieved my goal making new friends, reading books (for pleasure), connected with the outdoors, and uncovered an appreciation for yoga.

This year I am not setting any goals…. you heard that correctly, there will be no two-part series, no changing my routine. Why fix what isn’t broken, am I right?!


I’m an achievement-oriented, hyper-competitive, Type A personality. Setting goals and racing toward the finish line is how I function, BUT……

There is no hierarchy.  No higher or lower. better or worse. There is no stronger or weaker.

Rather than defining my perceived limitations and setting a bunch or long and short-term goals, I am making a commitment to continual improvement, embracing uncertainty, questioning normal, and expecting success.

For 2023 I hope you find ways to invest in yourself whether it be your wellbeing, creative goals or simply taking some time for you. You are number one, choose yourself and enjoy your life.
