The Venus Fitness logo is derived from the painting “The Birth of Venus,” by Sandro Botticelli. In Greek mythology Venus is the goddess of love and beauty. The painting depicts Venus emerging from the sea and arriving at the shore, as the myth of her birth describes.

 This painting deals with a form of beauty so profound that it is removed from the mortal world.  Most importantly the painting has not been touched by modern day ideals. When you look at Venus, she is a true representation of women.  Free of designer labels, make-up, and plastic surgery, all modern day smoke screens that represent wealth and status more than actual beauty.

As we grow up, we lose the ability to see ourselves as we truly are.  We become increasingly self-critical and self conscious. Modern say has perpetuated this illusion of perfection that is completely unattainable and unrealistic.  Our self worth is derived from material posssions instead of qualities of character and goodness.  Beauty shines from the inside out, character and goodness is what makes us all beautiful.
